Rental Details
The Pavilion is normally rented for social functions with family and friends. Commercial use requires separate approval and fees. Partisan political events are not permitted.
Rental rates vary for members and the general public, and a refundable deposit is required at the time of booking.

Q: Who can rent the Pavilion at American Legion Post 129?
A: The Pavilion is available for both members and the public. Rental fees vary depending on membership status (see fee schedule below).
Q: What are the rental fees?

Legionnaires in good standing (6+ months): Free of charge

Auxiliary, SALs, and Officers: $150

Q: Are any groups allowed to use the Pavilion free of charge?
A: Yes. Several local non-profit organizations and community groups use the Pavilion for meetings and events at no charge, as part of our community outreach. These include SALs, Parrot Heads, Island Women, Inlet Association, Auxiliary, Island Men, Leathernecks, Kids for Kids, JROTC, and others.
Q: What regular events are held at the Pavilion?
A: In addition to community meetings, the Pavilion hosts weekly activities such as Line Dancing (Mondays), Trivia (Wednesdays), Bingo (Thursdays), Karaoke on (Fridays), World Tavern Poker (Saturdays), and Shag Dancing (Sundays). On the first Friday of each month, we host a public Fish Fry, and on Saturday, we host a public BBQ Chicken dinner fundraiser.
Q: Can alcohol be served at my event?
A: Yes. Renters may bring their own beer and wine with a special occasion permit. If you wish to serve liquor, you must apply for a Limited Special Occasion or Special One-Time Permit through the NC ABC Commission. Event insurance is also required.
Q: What is included with the rental?
A: The Pavilion provides tables and chairs (subject to availability), restroom facilities (stocked with paper products), and access to the pavilion manager for entry and setup. HOA meetings also receive setup assistance and optional coffee service upon request.
Q: What is the renter responsible for?
A: Renters must:

Clean up after the event, including trash removal and putting away tables/chairs

Provide event insurance and permits if serving alcohol
Q: How do I schedule or reserve the Pavilion?
A: Rentals are scheduled through the Pavilion Manager, who maintains the calendar. A rental agreement is emailed to those requesting the space. The Pavilion Manager also meets all renters in person for payment, entry, and coordination.
